Carolyn Hutchings Edlund is a master artist known and collected
internationally. Her works are in collections in Canada, England, Germany, France, Italy,
and the United States. Born (1947) and raised in Rhode Island, art was an obvious
obsession in her developmental years. At the age of eleven she began formal study with
the late C. Gordon Harris. Professional representation of her paintings began at an early
age. Formal education continued under the tutelage of Nguyen Tri Minh, Franklin Alexander,
and the Art Students League.
A 2004 review compared the excellence of her work to that of John Constable, one of
England’s greatest landscape artists. Edlund’s work has been published in American
Artist and Island Living (UK), and was selected for exhibition at the
Salmagundi Club (NYC) and at the Bienniale Internazionale Dell’Arte Contemporanea in
Florence, Italy.
She has served as exhibition judge and guest lecturer for numerous arts organizations. Her paintings and drawings have been represented in Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom by the Southlands Gallery, and by Nicholsen-Evans Gallery. Her work is represented by galleries in the United States. |
